Family Friday | my big little guy | at home photographer

It’s Friday!!!!!!!! We are so glad about that around here. It’s a full day of editing for me today. Daddy has boy duty and I am working away trying to get back up to date and maybe even ahead (!?!)

Hope you have been loving the sunshine as much as we have been, the PNW in the Spring and Summer can be so beautiful!

Sharing with you my big little guy today….This is Coleson on a regular ole morning at home. He loves to build blocks.

He is so into writing words/reading. He often will sound them out but sometimes he’ll give me a word and we’ll work it out together as he writes it. It is so neat to see his little brain working! This boy only has two weeks left of pre-k and then he is an official kindergartner! It’s CRAZY if you ask me!

and just because Tate is just so lovable…here is his typical morning look.:)

It’s quiet photo wise this weekend, well aside from editing work! We have a recital to attend and a birthday party for a buddy from school and a family bbq! Hope you have a great weekend!

Addison Grace | long awaited for | Fircrest Newborn Photographer

Meet Addison. She is a dreamy, angel baby.

I have done photos for Michael & Amy’s (extended) family before. Such a great group! Doing this session was something special! This baby has been prayed for and longed for and what a special gift she is! Her mommy, Amy, had so many neat things set aside, I probably could had been there all day long and shot and shot and shot had they let me.:)I brought some fun things to, that I had been keeping aside for her. I always like to have at least one or two things to add in to a session that is new and fresh.

Addison was a great sleeper. Once I got her shushed  she was o-u-t! SO much so that towards the end you’ll see a sweet photo of her mama actually trying to wake her. We figured we had enough sleepy pictures and that it would be fun to see her eyes open. She wasn’t overly happy with the idea but with her sweet mild self she obliged us some.:)Enjoy her sneak peak…I sort of went overboard on the number of images here…but how could I not!:)

There is so much meaning to some of the blankets & clothing items  used, like this patch blanket made by Addie’s auntie Becky.

Oh so proud and over-joyed!

Here she is wearing an outfit knitted by her great-grandmother that was once Amy’s! I think the yellow was so pretty on her and makes a perfect spring outfit!

We ventured into her sweet nursery…I just love what they did.

So many pieces were lovingly made adding such a sweet and personal touch…like the curtains made by Amy’s mom and Addie’s grandma. They were lovely!

This bonnet was another piece that was once worn by Amy.

This bonnet here was made by my sister in law, Sarah. I sent her a request and she went above and beyond…I just love it! This was the first time  using it and I think Addie was just the perfect model.

The white blanket here was made by Addie’s auntie Eva…it was so soft and beautiful!

And here is when mama was trying to wake little Addie…so sweet.

A perfect end to our session was when grandma arrived for her visit. We had to capture the three generations. What a special time for these women!

Michael & Amy, thank you so much for having me to your home to capture this amazing time for you. Having a new baby is such a wonderful gift and I can see that you are loving  sweet Addie and thankful for each moment with her. I hope you enjoy your photo peek, I will be in touch soon!

mother’s day surprise | siblings | Lakewood family photographer

You might recognize Heather, she is the lovely  bride to be for a wedding I am shooting this coming August. I first had the pleasure of meeting her at her engagement session a little while back. She contacted me a couple of months ago to get a sibling session on the books for her and her brother’s. How awesome is it that they do this for their mom every couple of years or so? We won’t bring up the fact that in some years past they used cheesy places at the mall for these photos. Eek. Thankfully we will replacing those  pictures!:):)I don’t typically do siblings in the this age category. I  think this is the second time now and it is sure fun. Not real hard getting cooperation and smiles from adult siblings like it can be with children siblings.:)I had such a fun evening with this group and it turns out the brothers will be apart of the wedding party…so I already know partly what a treat I am in for come wedding time!:)

Here is a glimpse at their session!

Thanks Heather (and brother’s!) See you again…soon!!!

Back with the Engle’s | 2 yrs & 6 months | Puyallup Family Photographer

I got to catch up with the Engle family last week!

Andrew is turning 2 years old this month and miss Emma is already 6 months old! That is how old Andrew was when I started photographing him! Time flies! We had a great and warm afternoon after rescheduling a couple of times due to gray and cold days, I am so glad we waited it out.

Daddy and baby pictures are always so sweet!

I  brought some bubbles along for Andrew…he blew them a couple times but then thought they would be more fun to taste than blow.:)

How sweet are these curls?!

One cool boy.

Engle’s it was so great as usual to see you all! Thank you for having me take your pictures, I had fun chasing your busy boy!:)

Family Friday | the boys that make me a mom | at home photographer

Happy Friday!

It is Mother’s Day weekend!  Hopefully this isn’t new news to you…but that you are planning to celebrate and honor the woman in your life that is “mom” to you &/or your children. What a wonderful calling to be a mom. I am so grateful for the title and love being one, with all it’s ups and downs. I am also thankful for my own amazing mom and all her sacrifice through the years (and it just continues!) I am blessed with a pretty wonderful  mother in law as well who raised the great man that I married!

My husband just snapped a quick photo of me and my three little munchkins last night while we were out. It’s not perfect or ‘styled’ but we turned out to be color coordinated at least!  I do not love to be on the other end of the camera like many other moms but it is so important for us moms  to be, for our kid’s sake, and for our memories sake to. Before I know it these boys are going to be grown and ‘gone’ I love that we have one (or two) photos with me and them in their smallness. I hope you get a picture too of you and your children this weekend, but dont forget to get one with your mom as well! It doesn’t have to be perfect, just taken.

What are your big plans? I am hosting a dessert for my mom & family tomorrow and then hosting dinner for my husband’s mom and family on Sunday after church. It looks like it will be a beautiful weekend to celebrate MOM! {But first I get to meet Addison and Mia at their newborn sessions!}

Happy Mother’s Day weekend every one!
